The School have strong advantage in scientific research, it has undertaken and completed more than 80 national scientific research projects and 100 provincial and ministerial research projects including the National 863 Projects, 973 Projects and the National Natural Science Foundation. It has won 2 awards of National Science and Technology Progress and more than 20 prizes of provincial and ministerial level. Each year the staff publishes more than 200 SCI and EI papers and applies for and gets 150 issued patents. The annual research funds are more than 20 million yuan.
